I replaced an old mechanical thermostat with this unit. What a difference! It does a terrific job of controlling the room temperature. There are 2 programmable cycles. I have it warm up the house early in the morning. It then cools things down while we are at work. It warms it back up in time for our return in the evening. Late at night, back down to conserve energy.
Weekends are separately programmable so you stay warm for longer periods of time.
My only criticism is that programming the temperatures is a serial process. In other words, you cannot select any time period to reprogram, you must step through all the cycles.
