Have had one for two years and another one for over a year. Going to buy another soon now! I've always used filtered water and never had a problem. I cleaned the heating rod once because it had residues, but the rest of the equipment has always been clean, no white residues. Somewhere I read that these humidifiers leave white dust in your room. I am guessing that because of using filtered water, I never had this issue. Get more detail about HONEYWELL ENVIRACAIRE HWM910 Warm Moisture 2 Gallon Humidifier.
